On January 1, 2017 Circles for Change will be known as Partners for Change.
This national program provides mentors (Allies) to individuals in poverty seeking to change their lives by achieving financial self-sufficiency. After completing a 14-20 week life skills course, participants are expected to contribute to the community completing the circle with action. The Circle meets regularly to build friendships (Wednesdays, 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM), where a meal, adult learning and child care are provided.
The program is seeking volunteer Allies to befriend a family or individual in financial poverty. Training support is offered through Ally Support Sessions and collaboration with others in Networx and access to Circles for Change staff. Other ways to serve include: meal preparation help, tutors, childcare providers, and others with life skills to share. To learn more about becoming an Ally or to refer individuals to this program contact the Circle for Change Director.

PACE oversees a range of adult learning opportunities, including English as a Second Language, high school equivalency, computer classes and other parenting/community education classes. All new and returning student must register prior to signing up for classes. Information collected by PACE is used for state funding and accountability purposes and is kept confidential.
All students must take a reading and listening placement test to register for an ESL class. The placement test takes approximately 1 hours and is offered at various locations in Pleasanton. Contact PACE office for details.

We also need data entry volunteers who can work at home on their own time at their own pace entering student evaluations into survey monkey. This allows us to evaluate the effectiveness of our program as well as provide schools with data regarding trends and issues that are of concern. Tri-Valley Haven, a non-profit providing shelter and counseling for sexual assault survivors, battered women and their children offer the Parents Creating Change Program, (PCC) which offers advice and support for parents, teen parents, custodial grandparents or guardians of children from the ages of 0-5. Parents can receive small amounts of diapers, wipes, baby food, new parent kits (in English & Spanish) and other items that may be in stock at the Tri-Valley Haven Food Pantry.
