This program states, “Our mission is to provide service and assistance to seniors that will: foster independence, promote safety and well-being, preserve dignity and improve quality of life”. Volunteer Drivers are needed to transport seniors to their medical appointments out of the Tri-Valley area (San Ramon, Walnut Creek, etc.). Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, a registered vehicle covered by liability insurance, and a clear DMV record.

Women with a compassionate heart are needed to take calls one day a week from their homes to screen potential residents for Shepherd’s Gate and give information on community resources.  Training will be provided.

Volunteer drivers needed for the Meals-on-Wheels program with  pick up of meals at Pleasanton Senior Center or Robert Livermore Community Center, Livermore.  A commitment of at least 2 hrs. every other week is requested.  Routes (with 10-12 deliveries) are usually 2 hours or less and new volunteers will receive training on meal program and safety checks.  Also, servers are needed for the senior lunch program at the Robert Livermore Community Center.
