This home meal delivery program provides daily nutritious meals to homebound seniors which helps improve the quality of lives and allows
seniors to remain independent in their homes. Volunteers are always invited to join the team that delivers meals.

Our spring respite for special needs children has an Olympic theme. Kids will be participating in some fun games in the gathering place, earning a medal and getting their pictures taken on the medal stand with the American flag.  Come be a part of the games, sporting jerseys and teams from all over the world or your patriotic red, white and blues.  We can only take as many kids as we have volunteers so sign up early and invite a friend.  Training begins for EVERYONE at 1:00 pm so you will know where and how to help your child participate in the games. A special 12 week program for parents of children in adolescence or with a strong temper.   To enroll, call Horizons Family Counseling.  A group for teens, "Keepin' it Real" will also be offered.  Scholarships available and space is limited.   With this program you will learn to:

Axis Community Health is the nonprofit health center in the Tri-Valley for low-income and uninsured residents. Volunteers are needed to assist patients to enroll in our new Patient Portal. Volunteers will fill shifts at one of the three medical locations in Pleasanton - 5925 W Las Positas Blvd #100 and   Livermore -3311 Pacific Ave and 4361 Railroad Ave.

Be a temporary safe haven for children of parents in crisis!  SFFC is a partnership between Olive Crest, a faith-based child welfare agency and local churches providing a way other than the foster care system for families to have time to heal and reunite in a more stable and healthy home. Safe families are needed in the Tri-Valley area!

Volunteer Drivers are needed to transport seniors to their medical appointments out of the Tri-Valley area (San Ramon, Walnut Creek, etc.). Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, a registered vehicle covered by liability insurance, and a clear DMV record.

This shelter for battered and homeless women and children has several volunteer opportunities: Someone to do childcare on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:30 am and Friday from 10:00 to 11:30 am: GED Tutors on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.: Creative Class Instructors on Thursday from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon to teach on an occasional or weekly basis.

Volunteers are also needed for completion of the Life Care Center as well as on-going repair/maintenance items. If you are skilled in plumbing, general construction, painting, etc.  this  is the perfect place for you to serve!

The Shepherd's Gate,  New Life Store, (Thrift Store)   generates  revenue to support the vital programs necessary to break the cycle of poverty, addiction, domestic violence and homelessness for women and their children.  Shopping at the New Life Store  gives the community the opportunity to partner with Shepherd's Gate as we transform lives.    The New Life Store currently has  the following opportunities at the store:

Putting pricing tags on clothing, sizing and hanging priced clothing, accepting donation (outside), researching price points for collectible items, organizing and stocking jewelry, stocking goods on sales floor, merchandising store windows and displays, data entry and file organization, sorting shoes, sorting and pricing toys, testing and pricing electronics, general maintenance, replacing tube light bulbs and ballasts, and carpet cleaning.

When: Volunteer Hours are Monday - Saturday 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, (with a 6-hour max per day)
